Pope Addresses Rising Food Prices

Pope Addresses Rising Food Prices

posted by Kenneth Spence

Pope Benedict XVI addressed the annual conference of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, and expressed particular concern over rising food prices and the instability of the global food market. In his 2009 encyclical Caritas in Veritate, the pope issued this challenge: “The problem of food insecurity needs to be addressed within a long-term perspective, eliminating the structural causes that give rise to it and promoting the agricultural development of poorer countries.”

Acton’s Director of Research Samuel Gregg has done much to illuminate those structural causes and their effects on the agricultural capacity of developing countries. In an interview with EWTN two months ago, he talked about two of the most important drivers of high food prices: farm subsidies and energy costs.

“All the subsidies that go into agriculture—through things like import taxes and tariffs, as well as direct subsidies—have the paradoxical effect of reducing the incentive for investment in agriculture in developing countries,” said Dr. Gregg. African farmers cannot compete with their counterparts in the first world who are able to sell their produce at artificially low prices, and so developing countries end up turning away from food production. In the long run, this decrease in supply causes prices to rise.

Energy prices also affect the cost of food: the more a farmer pays for gasoline, the more he has to recoup from the sale of his crops. Again, market imbalances are causing prices to rise—OPEC, the cartel that controls a substantial amount of the world’s crude oil, determines its supply, and so “there’s a disparity between supply and demand,” Dr. Gregg explained. “OPEC and other oil-producing countries introduce a whole range of price distortions into the energy sector, resulting in higher prices”

U.S. energy policy is also to blame: from drilling moratoriums to ethanol subsidies, the federal government has effectively introduced inefficiency to energy markets.

Developing countries must be allowed to produce food without being undercut by Western protectionism and too-costly energy. When free markets are hindered, the poor suffer most.

Global Warning Scientist Found to Be Fraudulent

Arctic Scientist Under Investigation

By BECKY BOHRER - Associated Press | AP

JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — Just five years ago, Charles Monnett was one of the scientists whose observation that several polar bears had drowned in the Arctic Ocean helped galvanize the global warming movement.

A Polar Bear Doesn't Bleed from Drowning
Now, the wildlife biologist is on administrative leave and facing accusations of scientific misconduct.

The federal agency where he works told him he was on leave pending the results of an investigation into "integrity issues." A watchdog group believes it has to do with the 2006 journal article about the bear, but a source familiar with the investigation said late Thursday that placing Monnett on leave had nothing to with scientific integrity or the article.

The source, who was not authorized to speak publicly about the ongoing investigation, wouldn't comment further.

The watchdog, Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, filed a complaint on Monnett's behalf Thursday with the agency, the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement.

Investigators have not yet told Monnett of the specific charges or questions related to the scientific integrity of his work, said Jeff Ruch, the watchdog group's executive director. His group released excerpts of interviews investigators conducted with Monnett and fellow researcher Jeffrey Gleason, in which they were questioned about the observations that led to the article.

Whatever the outcome, the investigation comes at a time when climate change activists and those who are skeptical about global warming are battling over the credibility of scientists' work.

Members of both sides, however, said that it was too early to make any pronouncements about the case, particularly since the agency has not yet released the details of the allegations against him.

Myron Ebell, of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, said the case reinforces the group's position that people should be more skeptical about the work of climate change scientists.

A Polar Bear Can Swim for 60 Miles
Even if every scientist is objective, "what we're being asked to do is turn our economy around and spend trillions and trillions of dollars on the basis of" climate change claims, he said.

Francesca Grifo, director of the scientific integrity program for the Union of Concerned Scientists, said she's not alarmed by the handling of the case so far.

Grifo said the allegations made in the complaint filed by Ruch's group are premature and said people should wait to see what, if anything, comes of the inspector general's investigation.

Beyond the climate change debate, the investigation also focuses attention on an Obama administration policy intended to protect scientists from political interference.

The complaint seeks Monnett's reinstatement and a public apology from the agency and inspector general, whose office is conducting the probe.

The group's filing also seeks to have the investigation dropped or to have the charges specified and the matter carried out quickly and fairly, as the Obama policy states.

BOEMRE, which oversees leasing and development of offshore drilling, was created last year in the reorganization of the Interior Department's Minerals Management Service, which oversaw offshore drilling.

The MMS was abolished after the massive Gulf of Mexico oil spill. The agency was accused of being too close to oil and gas industry interests. A congressional report last year found MMS Alaska was vulnerable to lawsuits and allegations of scientific misconduct.

The agency announced steps to improve.

The Polar Bear Report was a Scam
On July 18, BOEMRE told the longtime Anchorage-based Monnett that he was being put on leave, pending the investigation, according to the complaint. BOEMRE has barred Monnett from speaking to reporters, Ruch said.

Monnett could not immediately be reached Thursday.

His wife, Lisa Rotterman, a fellow scientist who worked with Monnett for years, including at BOEMRE's predecessor agency, said the case did not come out of the blue.

Rotterman said Monnett had come under fire in the past within the agency for speaking the truth about what the science showed. She said the 2006 article wasn't framed in the context of climate change but was relevant to the topic.

She feared what happened to Monnett would send a "chilling message" at the agency just as important oil and gas development decisions in the Arctic will soon be made.

"I don't believe the timing is coincidental," she said.

Rotterman said Monnett's work included identifying questions that needed to be answered to inform the environmental analyses the agency must conduct before issuing drilling permits.

"This is a time when sowing doubt in the public's mind about whether those findings can be trusted or not, that makes people think, I don't know what to believe," she said.

Monnett coordinated much of BOEMRE's research on Arctic wildlife and ecology, had duties that included managing about $50 million worth of studies, according to the complaint.

The agency said other scientists would manage the studies in his absence.

Cinder Blocks around the Necks of Polar Bears was Suspicious
According to documents provided by Ruch's group, which sat in on investigators' interviews with Monnett, the questioning focused on observations that he and researcher Jeffrey Gleason made in 2004.

At the time, they were conducting an aerial survey of bowhead whales, and saw four dead polar bears floating in the water after a storm. There were other witnesses, according to Ruch, and low-resolution photos show floating white blobs.

Monnett and Gleason detailed their observations in an article published two years later in the journal Polar Biology. In the peer-reviewed article, they said they were reporting, to the best of their knowledge, the first observations of the bears floating dead and presumed drowned while apparently swimming long distances.

Polar bears are considered strong swimmers, they wrote, but long-distance swims may exact a greater metabolic toll than standing or walking on ice in better weather.

They said their observations suggested the bears drowned in rough seas and high winds. They also added that the findings "suggest that drowning-related deaths of polar bears may increase in the future if the observed trend of regression of pack ice and/or longer open water periods continues."

The article and presentations drew national attention and helped make the polar bear a symbol for the global warming movement. Former vice president and climate change activist Al Gore mentioned the animal in his Oscar-winning global warming documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth."

2001 - 2010 Sees Record Low Temperatures
The complaint said agency officials harassed Gleason and Monnett, and that they received negative comments after the journal article. Gleason took another Interior Department job; he didn't respond to an email and a BOEMRE spokeswoman said he wouldn't be available for comment.

In May 2008, the bear was classified as a threatened species, the first with its survival at risk due to global warming.

According to a transcript, provided by Ruch's group, Ruch asked investigator Eric May, during questioning of Monnett in February, for specifics about the allegations. May replied: "well, scientific misconduct, basically, uh, wrong numbers, uh, miscalculations."

Monnett said that alleging scientific misconduct "suggests that we did something deliberately to deceive or to, to change it. Um, I sure don't see any indication of that in what you're asking me about."

Prohibitive Regulations and Taxes

Prohibitive Regulations and Taxes

I'm an entrepreneur.  I would like to hire just 10 people.  But, I can't.  I'm not rich, not even close to breaking even ... well that's not true, but I'm JUST breaking even.

I don't think lowering taxes goes far enough.  The four letter word "deregulation" is what I need.  The idiots on both sides, like to paint broad strokes and argue over that word.  The truth is, there is a difference from making sure I don't sell lead chips to children and it's a far cry from me having to have to provide for inspections, licenses and fees to be able to sell a tie twisty to a full grown man.  No one wants to talk about regulations that keep people like me out of so many industries it's not even funny.  Regulations that were written by lawyers who's socks cost more than my operating budget in 2008.

Yes lower taxes on entrepreneurs.  Yes lower taxes on the wealthy and middle class.  Yes to all of that, but for real change, get rid of prohibitive regulation.

The Jobless "Solution"?

About the Proposed Job Solutions

Other than the manufacturing jobs, which were lost over a decade ago, the model for American jobs was not established on a solid economic foundation to begin with.  There was no reason, nor call for service sector jobs to be a full 40% of the job market.  call centers and consulting, was never a NEEDED niche, to base an economy on.  Neither one generates any real revenue for the country.  It is not something you can package, pass around and keep generating income from, like sugar, pork bellies or a circuit board.

Until such time as someone admits that the model is broken, there never will be recovery.

And, of course the rich and wealthy and upper middle class have no compassion / understanding of the job loss.  Nearly 90% of the jobs lost in America were all entry level and or low paying jobs.  What is really getting everyone's goat, and has become a huge backlash to all this, the question of illegal immigrants taking low paying and or entry level jobs is now in the sniper scopes of all of the state treasurers.  The issue can no longer be ignored.

With this in mind, several states are now trying to pass / discuss an immigration policy to uphold enforcement of the immigration laws a la Arizona.  So all the people gnashing their teeth and clawing their hair out over that state, need look no further than their own state capital to see the same legislation come to roost.

The problem really cannot be ignored.  And, it is a definite solution to the jobless  problem.  Illegal immigrants take the low paying / entry level jobs; pay no taxes; AND to add injury to insult - send a whopping 80% of the income back home to Mexico, making it the 3rd base of Mexican GDP.  Those figures cannot be ignored any longer in this economic debacle.

The Shame of Being Black and Republican

Black Republicans?

Blacks mostly voted Republican from after the Civil War and through the early part of the 20th century. That’s not surprising when one considers that Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican president, and the white, segregationist politicians who governed Southern states in those days were Democrats. The Democratic Party didn’t welcome blacks then, and it wasn’t until 1924 that blacks were even permitted to attend Democratic conventions in any official capacity. Most blacks lived in the South, where they were mostly prevented from voting at all.

Abraham Lincoln
The election of Roosevelt in 1932 marked the beginning of a change. He got 71 percent of the black vote for president in 1936 and did nearly that well in the next two elections, according to historical figures kept by the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies. But even then, the number of blacks identifying themselves as Republicans was about the same as the number who thought of themselves as Democrats.

It wasn’t until Harry Truman garnered 77 percent of the black vote in 1948 that a majority of blacks reported that they thought of themselves as Democrats. Earlier that year Truman had issued an order desegregating the armed services and an executive order setting up regulations against racial bias in federal employment.

Even after that, Republican nominees continued to get a large slice of the black vote for several elections. Dwight D. Eisenhower got 39 percent in 1956, and Richard Nixon got 32 percent in his narrow loss to John F. Kennedy in 1960.

But then President Lyndon B. Johnson pushed through the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964 (outlawing segregation in public places) and his eventual Republican opponent, Sen. Barry Goldwater, opposed it. Johnson got 94 percent of the black vote that year, still a record for any presidential election.

The following year Johnson signed the 1965 Voting Rights Act. No Republican presidential candidate has gotten more than 15 percent of the black vote since.

Footnote: Younger African American voters have been edging away from the Democratic Party in recent years. David Bositis of the Joint Center notes "a fairly long-term pattern of decreasing identification with the Democrats by younger African Americans." Of course, it remains to be seen what the 2008 campaign will bring.

-- Brooks Jackson

If you look back through American history and find a black American being enslaved, lynched, railroaded, or persecuted, 99 times out of a hundred, you'll find a Democrat behind it. The hated and feared KKK? Throughout most of its history, it was little more than a hooded, thuggish arm of the Democratic Party.

But in the 1960s, when the Democrats’ overt racism became untenable, they switched to a strategy they've used all the way until the present day. Instead of persecuting black Americans because they thought they were inferior, they decided to "help" black Americans because they thought they were inferior. Unfortunately for black Americans, the "help" they get from the Democratic Party is almost always perversely damaging.

All the First Blacks in Congress Were Republican
Democrats cooked up the great society, welfare, food stamps, and all other manner of government goodies because they said they wanted to "help" people. What was the result of that "help?" The Democrats did something that they hadn't managed to do when they enslaved black Americans, persecuted them with Jim Crow laws, or terrorized them with the Ku Klux Klan: they managed to nearly destroy the black family. According to Walter Williams,

"In 1940, the illegitimacy rate among blacks was 19 percent, in 1960, 22 percent, and today, it's 70 percent. Some argue that the state of the black family is the result of the legacy of slavery, discrimination and poverty. That has to be nonsense. A study of 1880 family structure in Philadelphia shows that three-quarters of black families were nuclear families, comprised of two parents and children. In New York City in 1925, 85 percent of kin-related black households had two parents. In fact, according to Herbert Gutman in The Black Family in Slavery and Freedom: 1750-1925, "Five in six children under the age of 6 lived with both parents."

The story is no different when it comes to education. Many black children are stuck in disastrous, failing schools. That's why it's no surprise that a majority of black Americans support school vouchers, just like the Republican Party. But, the Democratic Party, at the behest of the teachers’ unions, has worked ceaselessly to keep black children trapped in mediocre schools by killing voucher programs.

Robert Byrd on his biggest mistake (1993):

“Well, it’s easy to state what has been my biggest mistake. The greatest mistake I ever made was joining the Ku Klux Klan. And I’ve said that many times. But one cannot erase what he has done. He can only change his ways and his thoughts. That was an albatross around my neck that I will always wear. You will read it in my obituary that I was a member of the Ku Klux Klan.”

Strom Thurmond on running as a segregationist Dixiecrat (1998):

“I don’t have anything to apologize for, I don’t have any regrets. The Dixiecrats were right.”

I Am Not a Teabagger

A Message to Obama Worshipers

*sigh* I've said it before, but apparently, I was ignored.  I AM BLACK.  I VOTED FOR OBAMA.  However, I have a political science degree and can see quite easily what is going on in the country.

Blacks are approaching nearly 50% unemployment.  There has NOT been a pull from Iraq and Afghanistan.  We have lost millions upon millions of jobs.  The dollar has not only sunk to a new low, but is in danger of DEFAULTING EVEN MORE.  Yes, that's right, WE'VE ALREADY DEFAULTED YEARS AGO.

If you have a college degree, even in liberal arts, you'll easily be able to see that Obama has done everything in his power to staff his cabinet with wall street heavy hitters, not just the peons, but the heavy hitters.

I was also registered democrat.  But, with a modicum of homework, I quickly realized that the two parties are one and the same.  *GASP* oh shocking... oh my zeitgeist is come crashing down around my ears, democrats and republicans can't be the same.  Oh, come on.  Really?  You can't be in that much denial.

Anything Bush did, is long gone.  This is the 3rd year of this guy's term of office.  He has signed into law, much legislation of his own.  Also, he was never forced to sign into law anything that was going on during the Bush term.  You do recall that Bush was a Republican and this guy is a Democrat.

I don't need to go into a brief history lesson of how Clinton did not sign into law anything that his Republican predecessor arranged.

Come on, you all are smarter than this.  There have been Black women, men, on this page, Latinos and others who are OBVIOUSLY not republicans.  We are all saying the same thing.  This president is not speaking for the people, he is speaking for wall street.  In fact, Bush wasn't even Republican.  At the end the Republican party and congress fought him tooth and nail.  WHY? Because, he too, was a corporatist.  He ramped up the deficit higher than any democrat / republican preceding him.  This guy is doing the same exact thing.

Give up.  Take your licking and admit that you were duped.  Remember, Obama is POLITICIAN.  Who cares about his speaking abilities when china is raping us, jobs are flooding out of the country, food prices are skyrocketing and the darling of the Democratic party of issues, SOCIAL SECURITY, is the first thing on the chopping block.  What's worse is he has committed unconstitutional crimes over and over and over.

The time for giving him a pass is way over.  Who cares that he's half Black.  Who cares that he's articulate.  Who cares that the country was bad under Bush.  I have a clue for you.  Bush wasn't the cause of the housing bubble.  We Americans were the cause of the housing bubble.  Bush wasn't the cause of this economic depression.  We were the cause of this economic depression.  Bush wasn't the cause of jobs hemorrhaging out of the US.  We were the cause.

For all the blame that I, personally, laid at Bush's feet, the reality was that he no more caused it, than I did.  In fact, the housing bubble started under Reagan, skyrocketed under Clinton and came to a halt under Bush.

For all the bleeding and weeping we have for these people losing their homes, at the end of the day, it is their own greed that got them into it.  Do you think for a second that someone purchasing a $30,000 home EVER got into trouble?  Do you think someone that paid CASH for their home, [ oh an yes 30% of homes are STILL paid for in cash, like everyone did in the 30's 40's and 50's ] got into trouble?

Obama is not special.  He doesn't deserve your worship.  He deserves your scrutiny.  And, do NOT rely on the news to do your thinking for you.

I offer you an olive branch.  Without you, the country cannot be healed.  If the millions of Obama worshipers do not quickly wise up, we are going to be plunged into the worst nightmare, even this current session could not hold a match to.  Please, just stop the Obama worship and think for a second about what is going on.  The wars, the money, the budget, the drop in the dollar, the wall street CONTINUOUS bailouts, the food inflation, the energy inflation, the middle class slipping into poverty, the staggering job loss.

There is an alternative, to this two party monopoly.

The "N" Word

The "N" Word

Oprah had a series of shows where she was trying to get Black "artists" [ yes the word is used rather weakly ] to stop using the "N" word.  Mind you, the only Black "artists" that would even use the "N" word, would be those who aren't artists at all, if you get my meaning, yes rappers.  So she called on several artists to stop using the word and made them promise on national TV to stop doing so.  Well for a few weeks, her rating were up for that.  Then she moved on.

There was no stopping using the word.  The stupid "artists" are not the ones who are even promoting using the word.   Most, nearly 99%, rap songs are written by white or jewish "lyricists" who work for big huge music industry corporations.  They have entire departments dedicated to making sure the "N" word stays in fashion.  They have already figured out that the market loves using the "N" word.

It might shock you to know that 75% of all rap music is bought by suburban, white, male, teens.  That right, little white kids are the largest audience for Black rap.  So the target market is a group that is outside of the actual genre, looking in.  Black rappers are not speaking to a Black audience.  They are speaking to a white audience.

That being said, the prolific use of the "N" word in rap and music and on TV in general, is for a white audience.  Everyone, the average unintelligent American, thinks Black rappers are saying the "N" word amongst themselves.  I happen to be Black.  I don't use the "N" word and have plenty of Black friends who never use the "N" word.  The only time the "N" word is used, is to insult someone.

Yes, the "N" word, is, was, and will always be, an insult to BLACK people.  Anyone saying it's for anything other than a Black person, is an idiot, and unfit to live.  [ but that's just my opinion ] [ I'm almost kidding ] [ no I'm not ] [ ok maybe I am, but you'll never know ]

How Does the "N" Word Survive

Of course, everyone knows that the "N" word dates back to slavery.  It was used to describe and denigrate a race of people and keep them subjugated.  It was normally coupled with: filthy; no-good; heathen; disgusting etc.  So, no it was never a descriptive word talking about someone's work ethic or their lack of motivation.  [ I have had people try and describe the word to mean those things *sigh* ]

Now, slavery only lasted a few decades, actual slavery.  It was over in one generation.  The aftermath of course, is another story.  And, that's where the word really comes into play.  To keep the Black population subjugated, the "N" word was prolifically used.  The white population in America wanted to make sure that the Black population never gained any wealth, nor power and "stay in their place".

The only way that the "N" word survives today, is through media.  Media promotes the word at every opportunity it gets.  If the word is coming out of a Black face, noone can say that it is a white man subjugating a Black man.  His own people are using it, right?  The truth is, that for the word to survive, ONE GENERATION HAS TO TEACH IT TO THE NEXT GENERATION.

Now, only an idiot would keep alive something that is such a scar on your life and the lives of your ancestors.  Only a brazen imbecile would promote that which harkens to the days when you were not considered human, nor worth the full worth of a white man.  Am I right?  Why would you keep the word alive?

The word needs to die.  For the most part, I never hear racial slurs about other races.  Or, shall I say, I never hear racial slurs to anywhere near the frequency that I hear the "N" word.

Stop being idiots and lets put that word to the grave, buried with the slaves that were whipped with it during their lifetime.  It needs to die along with our ancestors.

Announcing the Nevada Libertarian Facebook Group

Join the Nevada Libertarian Facebook Group

If you are liberty minded and wish to join Nevada Liberty Group, you do not have to be a paying member of the libertarian party.  Just join us, or ask me to invite you. I welcome any and all people that believe you can speak for your own money and where it should god.  The problem most people do not understand about politics is that we have a two party system that does not allow anyone else in on the party and does not speak for the country, but only for themselves.  They have allowed government to be run as a money making scheme and not a way of protecting the country and its citizens.

Nevada Libertarian Group
If you are already on facebook, join me and friends in the Nevada Libertarian Group, in the discussion and voice your opinions on political matters that are on your mind.  Noone there is a republican, nor a democrat.  No discussion about what the "other party" is doing, since we are not a part of that two party monopoly.  You are the ones that should be in control of government, and not government in control of you.  But, this has been the status quo for at least a hundred years.

Time and again people are told about how the government needs your tax dollars.  The reality is the government doesn't even use your tax dollars.  Since they have a private bank that can lend them untold sums of money, they simply use the tax issue  to further their two party support.  Ask a republican about taxes and they'll point at the democrats.  Ask a democrat about taxes and they'll point at the republicans.  Neither one of them will answer the question of where government gets the trillions of dollars it spends annually.

It is time for a change, so join me for some truth and some discussion on how we can be liberated and our rights restored as Americans.

The Voice Within (Video + Lyrics)

The Voice Within (Video + Lyrics)

"The Voice Within" is a song written by Christina Aguilera and Glen Ballard, with production by Ballard. It was released as the fifth and final single from Aguilera's second album, Stripped on December 23, 2003. The single peaked at #33 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Aguilera's seventh Top 40 hit. The single also peaked at #9 in the UK and #8 in Australia. The single is most known for its simplistic, but critically acclaimed music video that was filmed in black and white as a single continuous camera shot.

"The Voice Within" was written by both Aguilera and Glen Ballard, and was produced by the latter. The album version extends the song about five seconds and blends it with the next track, "I'm OK". An alternate edit clocking in at 4 minutes and 26 seconds appears on the compilation album Totally Hits 2004. Aguilera did not want "The Voice Within" to be released as the fifth single. She was lobbying for "Impossible", a track from Stripped, which was produced by Alicia Keys, as she felt it would help her break into the urban market. RCA Records wanted to release a big ballad during the holiday season like they did the year prior with "Beautiful" and felt that 'The Voice Within' was the perfect candidate. Eventually, Aguilera's label made the final decision and the idea of 'Impossible' being the final single was scrapped.

The song's music video was directed by David LaChapelle and produced by LaChapelle Studio and MMG. It opens with a close-up of Aguilera and zooms out to her wearing a slip and sitting in an abandoned prop room. In one continuous black-and-white shot, Aguilera walks through several rooms, exits the building, and finally lays on a light box. The video was filmed at a deserted theater in downtown Los Angeles, California. It is inspired by neorealist works.[1] "The Voice Within'" was the eleventh video for Aguilera to appear on TRL. The video hit number one twice and spent thirty-seven days on the countdown. The video was nominated for three 2004 MTV Video Music Awards, Best Female Video, Viewer's Choice, and Best Cinematography.

The Voice Within Lyrics

Young girl don't cry
I'll be right here when your world starts to fall
Young girl it's alright
Your tears will dry, you'll soon be free to fly

When you're safe inside your room you tend to dream
Of a place where nothing's harder than it seems
No one ever wants or bothers to explain
Of the heartache life can bring and what it means

Chorus:
When there's no one else, look inside yourself
Like your oldest friend just trust the voice within
Then you'll find the strength that will guide your way
You'll learn to begin to trust the voice within

Young girl don't hide
You'll never change if you just run away
Young girl just hold tight
Soon you're gonna see your brighter day
Now in a world where innocence is quickly claimed
It's so hard to stand your ground when you're so afraid
(From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/c/christina-aguilera-lyrics/the-voice-within-lyrics.html)
No one reaches out a hand for you to hold
When you're lost outside look inside to your soul

Chorus
When there's no one else, look inside yourself
Like your oldest friend just trust the voice within
Then you'll find the strength that will guide your way
You'll learn to begin to trust the voice within

Life is a journey
It can take you anywhere you choose to go
As long as you're learning
You'll find all you'll ever need to know

(be strong)
You'll break it

(hold on)
You'll make it

(be strong, hold on)
Just don't forsake it because
No one can tell you what you can't do
No one can stop you, you know that
I'm talking to you

Chorus
Young girl don't cry
I'll be right here when your world starts to fall...

Just Have Faith

Just Have Faith

Have you ever heard someone tell you, "just have faith"?  Let's look into this word briefly, before we delve into what is really going on here.  You cannot have a discussion unless all the terms are understood by both sides.  So first let's look at the word faith, itself.  Faith is defined as: belief that is not based on proof. So you have to believe something, but have absolutely no evidence of it. For the most part, most of our modern day learning is based on absolutely no evidence.  But, we don't say that it is faith.  We say the things we learn in school are based on evidence of reading something that someone else has read from the source.  Or, so the story goes.  It is actually no true, but we pretend that school text books are based on fact.

Black Jesus Walks on Water
So we have a religious system in place that is not based on fact.  In fact, most of the Christian belief system is based on complete lies.  Is that harsh of us to say that?  No.  Not if you have read historical documents and gone to the source of the information.  Do you want proof?  Well, we are not going to tell you to have faith that what we are saying is true, without evidence.  We would like for you to see for yourself.  If you belong to a Christian church with a minister / priest, ask them a few key questions:

  • before Jesus was born, it says that King Herod had all the male children slaughtered to avoid Jesus' birth, but King Herod predates Jesus some 300 years?
  • the birth of Jesus is amazingly celebrated on the 25th of December, yet his birth was clearly born during the summer months or 25th of March?
  • when Jesus was born it is said Mary and Joseph fled into Egypt, called Nubia, land of the Blacks, yet somehow Jesus, Mary and Joseph are always portrayed as being white people, how could they have blended in with Egyptians? [ note that the Muslim massacre of northern Africa had no occurred yet]
  • John the Baptist is said to have baptized Jesus, yet John the Baptist predates Jesus by some 100 years, as in he was already dead 100 years beforehand?
  • it is said King Herod beheaded John the Baptist, yet King Herod predates Jesus by 300 years, and predates John the Baptist by some 200 years?
  • the alleged apostles  of Jesus, those who are supposed to have lived and walked with Jesus in person, while he was alive, all wrote their gospels 300 years after the death of Jesus, and amazingly all 4 chosen by Irenaeus of Lyon?
  • none of the gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke nor John, were actually written by any of those people. They were written by anonymous sources and assigned to the supposed apostles of Jesus?
  • if the math was done on the gospels and the apostles, every apostle would have lived to be 70 - 90 years of age, mind you the life expectancy during 1BC was 29 in the Jewish population, and of that, only 2% of the population lived beyond the age of 50, all wealthy?
  • Mark's gospel has 666 verses, not 678, although the NIV does not include the extra 12 verses. 12 verses were written some 50 years after the work was completed?  And, why does it have 666 verses to begin with?
  • all of the rest of the Epistles, Paul, John, Peter and James are all fake and not written by any of those men. Most were written by church scholars seeking to further the church and one, John, was written by followers of someone named "John"?
  • there are no historical documents written during the time of Jesus, which mention Jesus at all. None?  He was supposed to be famous and a miracle worker, surely the Jewish temple would write about him?  They write about everything but Jesus, not even in hatred of him?
  • Roman accounts show that several would-be Messiahs were executed and put to death, none of which were named Jesus?
  • Pontius Pilate is said to have asked the Jews which man should he spare, Jesus or a known murderer of Roman soldiers?  This is to have occurred on one of their holiest of days for the Jews?  And, thousands of Jews show up for the question?  And, the high priest says spare the murderer?  And, Pilate agrees?  None of this would have happened?
  • Osiris, Hercules, Mithra, Hermes, Prometheus, Perseus and others compare to the Christian myth. According to Patrick Campbell of The Mythical Jesus, all served as pre-Christian sun gods, yet all allegedly had gods for fathers, virgins for mothers; had their births announced by stars; got born on the solstice around December 25th; had tyrants who tried to kill them in their infancy; met violent deaths; rose from the dead; and nearly all got worshiped by "wise men" and had allegedly fasted for forty days?
A Crown of Thorns
If your minister can refute the evidence presented, then he is a fool or his teachings are foolish.  So the question is why does Christianity exist.  You have no further than to look at who were the first Christians.  The Jews were the first Christians.  They hated the Romans, with all of their heart.  The Romans treated them like dogs and had the power of life and death over them.  So, they got tired of the Messiah not showing up and wanted their own Messiah.  Unfortunately, noone came to save them from the Romans.  Also, the prophecies of the Messiah were hundreds of years off, as in it was not even the time for a Messiah.

Well now, if the gospels were written about 100 years after the fact and we know that no Jesus actually existed, Christianity, as we know it, was a religion of hope.

Jesus, clearly, was not the Messiah, the Jews had prophesied about.  The Jewish Messiah was to be a general with armies and he was to trounce the enemy.  Which enemy?  The prophecy never says.  The Jews at the time though hoped it was the Romans.

So if Jesus was not the Jewish Messiah, then who was he?

Well, for one, he never existed.  There was no Jew going around teaching Asian philosophy and performing miracles.  All the stories of Jesus popped up 100 - 200 years after the fact.  So he was a construct of the Christian religion.  In short, he is an imaginary figure made up by the Christian religion.  He is no more real the Mithras or Osiris, both whom closely, and nearly identically resemble Jesus, or shall we say, he resembles them.

All of the supposed prophecy fulfillment that Jesus supposedly fulfilled, were all false.  He never fulfilled any of the prophecies of being a Jewish Messiah.  You don't have to just ask a Jew, why they don't believe in him, you can simply go to the Jewish scripture and see for yourself.  The Jewish Messiah, was to be:
  • a general
  • have a massive army
  • have an empire from sea to sea
  • basically be like what later was to become the English empire [have no end to the empire]
The Jewish Messiah with His Sword
It is as simple as that.  That was supposed to be the Jewish Messiah.  None of this light streaming down, or stars shining on his manger, or wise men from the east visiting.  All of that, was borrowed from the church of Mithras.

What's that?  You don't know anything about the church of Mithras?  Sure you do, it's called the New Testatment.  Read it, and word for word, you now have the Mithras religion down to the letter.  In fact, there is no way that Christianity can even claim they were original.  No part of Christianity can not be found in the church of Mithras.

So all of the gospels and the dates and the prophecies, which completely misquote the old testament [ we didn't even go into how the old testament is misquoted in the new testament ] are all stolen from the Church of Mithras.  All of the stories about Jesus birth, all the way to his death are all written to coincide with the Mithras belief, NOT the Jewish belief.  Jesus comes from Bethlehem.  Jesus goes to Egypt.  A star shines over Jesus.  Wise men show up at his birth.  Mary is pregnant immaculently.  These are all church of Mithras teachings, not Jewish teachings.

Are we against the Christian faith then?  No.  In fact, we identify ourselves as Christian.  We just want you to know where your religion comes from.  We believe in god.  However, we do not believe in god just based on faith and that we should follow some other man, simply because he says have faith.  Clearly you cannot follow Jesus though.  Because if you read the new testament, he contradicts himself from book to book.  And, it isn't just a case of a different way of saying something.  From book to book, on the very same subject, Jesus says the opposite of what he says in one book.  One book says be peaceful, the next says take up arms.  It is hogwash.  It is not a guide to how to live your life.  The old testament, is much more guideful.   If ever you have a problem, you can read the old testament and look up that problem and find out how to solve it.  What is amazing is that it is hundreds of years old.  It makes you wonder that man has not progressed.

Betty Ford Dies at 93

Betty Ford Dies at 93

Former first lady Betty Ford died this evening, July 8, 2011 and is being remembered for her candor and strength in dealing with personal adversity. Ford, 93, died with her family by her side.

First Lady Betty Ford 1918 - 2011
Elizabeth Ann Bloomer Warren Ford (April 8, 1918 – July 8, 2011), better known as Betty Ford, was the wife of former United States President Gerald Ford and served as the First Lady of the United States from 1974 to 1977. As First Lady, Ford was active in social policy and shattered precedents as a politically active presidential wife (Time considered her "the most since Eleanor Roosevelt"). In the opinion of several historians, Ford had more impact upon history and culture than her husband.

Throughout her husband's term in office, she maintained high approval ratings despite opposition from some conservative Republicans who objected to her more moderate and liberal positions on social issues. Ford was noted for raising breast cancer awareness following her 1974 mastectomy and was a passionate supporter of, and activist for, the Equal Rights Amendment. Pro-choice on abortion and a leader in the Women's Movement, she gained fame as one of the most candid first ladies in history, commenting on every hot-button issue of the time, including feminism, equal pay, ERA, gender, medicine, abortion, and gun control. She also raised awareness of addiction when she announced her long-running battle with alcoholism in the 1970s.

Following her White House years, she continued to lobby for the ERA and remained active in the feminist movement. She is the founder, and served as the first chairwoman of the board of directors, of the Betty Ford Center for substance abuse and addiction and is a recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal (co-presentation with her husband, Gerald R. Ford, October 21, 1998) and the Presidential Medal of Freedom (alone, presented 1991, by George H.W. Bush).

The Black Family: How to Start Your Black Family Dynasty (Part I)

How to Start Your Black Family Dynasty (Part I)

Why is it that some families maintain their health, wealth, and property from one generation to another? Their children are not spoiled but are industrious? The parents and grandparents are respected? Why does the family grow in number and power and continue to contribute generation after generation to business and government?

In this series, I will show you how to turn your family into a dynasty, with you or your elder as the head of a mighty family.  This is of course intended for the Black family.  Noone, absolutely noone talks about this ever, yet the true nature of power is that family can transcend a bond that is stronger than business and thus make the best corporation ever.  Don't take my word for it, look at the world families alive now that control the world.  They are more powerful than nations and very frequently bring nations to their knees at a whim.  The Black family is plagued by slave mentality and I intend to break all of those idiotic teachings that have gone on before.  As close as most Black families are, they have yet to realize what tremendous potential power they could wield.  They instead enjoy petty politics among the family and let outside influences destroy them constantly.  It rarely dawns on the Black family that they could easily break from the yolk of modern day slavery: JOBS.  It goes without saying that it is an uphill battle to fight against all the propaganda thrown at the Black family: you should have a job; you should be a Christian; you should be a Democrat.  All of these messages seek to destroy the Black family and destroy the Black mind.  Break us down and destroy us.  That way, we are easily parted from our money.  That way, we stay at the bottom of the rung on the ladder of success.  We stay at the cheap labor pool level.  It is obscene.

Then someone like me comes along and says, "your religion is fake, your political beliefs are fake, and you're being used."  It's a bitter pill to swallow.  And many Black families think they know better.  I'm not seeing the results.  If your way is better, why are we behind Mexicans, who just got here.  Why are we behind Cubans, who just got here.  Why is it every racial group that sets foot on US soil, immediately surpasses our household income within a few years.  Numbers do not lie.  Your god is fake, your politics are fake and you've been sold a bill of goods that keeps our entire race at the bottom, year after year, decade after decade.  I'm here to wake you up.  Keep reading this series, and we will do more than just sit around complaining.  And, yes, I am doing all of what I'm saying, myself.

Introduction to a Family Dynasty

By definition, the "zaibatsu" were large family-controlled vertical monopolies consisting of a holding company on top, with a wholly owned banking subsidiary providing finance, and several industrial subsidiaries dominating specific sectors of a market, either solely, or through a number of sub-subsidiary companies.

The zaibatsu were the heart of economic and industrial activity within the Empire of Japan, and held great influence over Japanese national and foreign policies. The Rikken Seiyukai political party was regarded as an extension of the Mitsui group, which also had very strong connections with the Imperial Japanese Army. Likewise, the Rikken Minseito was connected to the Mitsubishi group, as was the Imperial Japanese Navy. By the start of World War II, the Big Four zaibatsu alone had direct control over more than 30% of Japan's mining, chemical, metals industries and almost 50% control of the machinery and equipment market, a significant part of the foreign commercial merchant fleet and 60% of the commercial stock exchange.

The Big Four zaibatsu (四大財閥?, shidai zaibatsu) of Mitsubishi, Mitsui, Sumitomo and Yasuda are the most significant zaibatsu groups. Two of them, Mitsui and Sumitomo, have roots stemming from the Edo period while Mitsubishi and Yasuda trace their origins to the Meiji Restoration. Throughout Meiji to Showa, the government employed their financial powers and expertise for various endeavors, including tax collection, military procurement and foreign trade.

Today, the influence of the zaibatsu can still be seen in the form of financial groups, institutions, and larger companies whose origins reach back to the original zaibatsu, often sharing the same original family names (for example, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation). However, some argue that the "old mechanisms of financial and administrative control" that zaibatsu once enjoyed have been destroyed. Despite the absence of an actualized sweeping change to the existence of large industrial conglomerates in Japan, the zaibatsu's previous vertically integrated chain of command, ending with a single family, has now widely been displaced by the horizontal relationships of association and coordination characteristic of keiretsu (系列?). Keiretsu, meaning "series" or "subsidiary", could be interpreted as being suggestive of this difference.

Obama Should Be Impeached

Obama Violates War Powers Act and Constitution

In this brief article we present short simple facts.  The president has to get congressional approval before going to war.  Congress has to declare war, not the president.  Obama did not seek congress' approval and instead went to NATO and signed a resolution with them, promising that this country will go to war in Libya.  This is on top of new numbers coming out of just Iraq alone, showing we are spending $5 TRILLION.  This is at a time when we cannot afford the promises to pay for prescription drugs and medical bills, as promised under medicare and medicaid.  The president, seemingly, if congress were of a mind to, could impeach the president over this.  This is how serious this act is.  The person who takes the presidency, takes an oath of office, claiming to defend the constitution.  Any violation of the constitution, means that the person should be removed.  It is as cut and dry as that.

Obama Libya Oil = Impeachment
This president should be impeached.

Not just on this instance, which is more than enough to impeach him, but countless other acts.  However, politics as they stand, would probably never do what is right.  Otherwise, it wouldn't be politics.

This president puts on a veneer of being peace loving and tolerant of everyone.  The truth is he is surrounded by wall street bankers and corporate shills which do everything in their power to make sure wall street and corporations get as much as they can.  Every single cabinet member is a member of wall street.  There is not one single cabinet member who was just some political yuppie.  He is surrounded by money and those who want power.  He is not a president of the people.  Yet in every news conference and sound bite, he pretends he is.  What is truly galling is that the public falls for it, yet can't do simple math.  He has raised taxes, bankrupted the middle class and put more small businesses out of business, the largest employer in America, than any other president combined.  After 1 year that could have been blamed on Bush, but this is 3 years later.  He has had ample time to dig us out of a 12 foot grave.  Only, Obama has dug us in worse and we are not at 8% unemployment we are at near 30% unemployment.  They only count those people that have the ability to claimed unemployment, as unemployed.  Students, those who have given up and those who do not qualify for unemployment, are not counted as unemployed.  It takes nothing to go to the unemployment office and ask the real rate.  They actually keep the numbers.

Although this is a Black president, the unemployment rate among Blacks is nearly 40% , and rising.  He has time and again screamed that he is not a "Black" president.  Not only is he not a "Black" president, but he has gone out of his way to ensure that Blacks suffer more than any other racial group.  Clinton, Bush, Reagan, Carter, Johnson and more did more for Blacks than President Barack Hussein Obama.  It is shameful.

These are just a few of the things this president has done.  Not only should he not be voted in for a 2nd term, he should be removed post haste, unless he gets us so far in the hole that we ultimately fall so far we can't get up.

For Blacks - How to Budget: Your "Entertainment" Budget

Your "Entertainment" Budget

In this economy and for the past 40 years, Black Americans have struggled to close the income gap between us and whites.  It is hard to do when you cannot save any money.  But I put to you this question: are you unable to save money because you spend it on the things you need, or because you spend money on things you want?  Then if you say it is because you spend it only on things you need, then I ask you the next part of that question: do you know how to distinguish the things you want from the things you need?  That might make it look like I'm assuming you're stupid, but the thing is you're fighting an entire system that is geared to make sure you fail and to squeeze every possible dollar out of you.  It is becoming harder and harder to distinguish what is necessary from what is luxury.  At the end of the day, luxury is not necessary.

“The average American is exposed to 247 commercial messages each day.”
Consumer Reports Website

No Budget = No Money
If you complain that you have no money to save, I guarantee you are spending 90% of your money on luxury items.  Let me start out by making sure you understand what is necessity.  We cannot have a dialogue if you do not know what a need looks like.  A need is something that is necessary for organisms to live a healthy life. Needs are distinguished from wants because a deficiency would cause a clear negative outcome, such as dysfunction or death. Needs can be objective and physical, such as food, or they can be subjective and psychological, such as the need for self-esteem. On a social level, needs are sometimes controversial. Understanding needs and wants is an issue in the fields of politics, social science, and philosophy.

  • Adequate nutritional food
  • Adequate water
  • Adequate protective housing
  • A safe environment for running your business
  • A supply of basic clothing
  • A safe natural environment
  • Appropriate health cures
  • Security in childhood
  • Significant primary relationships with members of the opposite sex
  • Physical security
  • Economic security
  • Safe child-bearing
  • Appropriate basic education.

So these are the basic needs that humans all over the world need.

The Need List Explained

  • Everyone needs food and water as a basis of staying alive.  One step above staying alive, is everyone needs food that has all of the nutrients that will keep the human healthy until he dies.
  • Humans also need a roof over their heads to keep out the wind, the cold, the heat and the rain.
  • Due to the reality of modern man, humans now need the ability to make money, so added to the list is having a safe environment to operate your business or trade.  [ remember, throughout history every member of society had their own trade / skill and they traded their trade / skill with other members of society to live.  From the beginning of slavery onward, that trade / skill was taken from 30% of the population and at the end of slavery that number exploded to 80%, but the need is still there for being able to do business and apply your trade / skill. ]
  • Every human needs adequate protective clothing for summer, winter and rain.
  • Every human needs to live somewhere, where nature will not slowly or quickly kill them.  This simply means that he should live somewhere decent.
  • Every human needs the knowledge, should their food supply diminish and their health fails due to a vitamin / mineral deficiency [and this is what disease actually means] that they have access to being able to be cured.  This does not mean that they go to a doctor, but that each and every family has the knowledge of how to cure the deficiency.
  • Every human needs to be protected as a child from whatever predators are out there, be they animal or human.  This protection affords them the ability to grow up and become adults.  Children are weak and fragile and adults should recognize this.  As an adult it is your duty to protect children and making sure children understand this.
  • Every human needs a significant primary relationship with a member of the opposite sex.  Once this is established, they can get married to each other to insure that noone else will infringe upon this relationship, including parents, relatives and strangers.
  • Every human needs to be secure from being killed on a daily basis.  This is a basic human need, the likes of which should go without saying.  This includes war.
  • Every human needs to be secure that if he plys his trade that his customers will pay him and the monetary system will keep working without interference from governments foreign or domestic.  This is a basic need that is constantly being threatened by federal, state and local governments on a daily basis and Americans, in particular, tolerate this.
  • Every human needs to be able to have children safely, without threat from anything or anyone that wishes to terminate their pregnancy due to their own predatory nature.
  • Due to this modern age, every human has a basic need to be educated on actual human history and not the fanciful human history that the Anglo-Saxons wish to hoist upon the world, or the plutocracy wishes to impose upon the world.  Along with this, News channels need to cease to rewrite current history.  Without basic, untainted education, every human is doomed to failure.

According to Alf Nucifora, an Atlanta-based marketing consultant:

“Research tells us that the average American consumer is exposed to
more that 600 advertising messages a day in one form or another.”
The Business Journal Phoenix Website

What are Wants

Anything that does not fall under the need list, is automatically a want.  In fact, the need list, needs to be broken down even further to its most basic, because some things on the need list can be luxuriated into a want instead of a need.  Notice that there is no item called: Entertainment.  So your TV and Movie night are automatically a want and not a need.

Remember the strict parents raised their child on school, homework and food and shelter.  The child of course excelled in school.  But, everyone thought the kid was boring.  And, he was.  But, he now lives in a big house and has a cute wife.

In the article ”Practical Advice from the Union of Concerned
Scientists” by Michael Brower, PhD, and Warren Leon, PhD:

“The average American is exposed to about 3000 advertising messages a
day, and globally corporations spend over $620 billion each year to
make their products seem desirable and to get us to buy them.”
Union of Concerned Scientists Website

The battle you have is distinguishing between that need and want.  Increasingly it becomes harder and harder to tell a need from a want.  Of course a Coke, is easily distinguished from water as a want.  But, bottled water is not distinguished from a want.  And, marketing experts launch million dollar campaigns to tell you that the New York Water system is horrible for your health, so you should buy bottled water to keep you healthy.

It is the job of a marketing firm to make sure you, as a customer of their client, mistake their product for a need, instead of you putting it into the category of a want.  In fact, a lot of corporations may dominate an entire industry so that the marketing of a category becomes the basis of your purchasing, instead of just a product.

“A conservative estimate has the average American consumer exposed to
more than 850 commercial messages a day.”
Texas A&M University Digital Library

Let's return to bottled water.  Bottled water is not a need.  In fact, by law, no municipality can have tap water that is harmful to humans, period.  There may be trace elements in the water system that shouldn't be there, like fluoride, but that's the duty of the citizens to tell the mayor and governor to take that out of the water system.  Meanwhile the bottle water companies launch a campaign telling you how bad fluoride actually is for your health and kid's health and that bottled water doesn't have fluoride in it, so buy bottle water in general.  The reality is, if the citizens simply go to the water district or sue them to take fluoride and other harmful substances out of the system, they wouldn't ever need to buy bottled water.

Water is a basic human need.  But, corporations have turned it into a want, by putting it in a bottle and selling it to you.  There is a huge distinction between the two.

Let's not stop at bottled water.  There are some wants that advertisers have pounded into our brains so much, that we now accept them as a need. Let's return to our need list and turn it into a want list by virtue of advertisers disguising luxury items and luxury living for necessities.

1. FOOD:  you need food to live.  However the only foods you actually need are: heirloom organic vegetables; heirloom organically raised beef and chicken and eggs.  You do not need any grains nor dairy.  In fact human consumption of grains has contributed to the ill health of populations.  Most grains are actually weeds, especially soy.  But, corporations have heavily marketed breads and grains as being an essential food and not the weed that it is.  We do not need dairy either.  There is no basic human need for dairy products at all.  In fact the marketing of dairy providing calcium or other nutrients is a complete and blatant lie, especially when you consider that any and all dairy products are heavily pasteurized, killing any and all nutrients in the product.

“If you're like most consumers, you have been the target of intrusive
marketing and a constant barrage of irrelevant advertising messages.
The average American sees over 3,000 advertising messages a day.
If you fill out a warranty card, get divorced, buy a home, get listed
in a school directory, enter a sweepstakes, purchase an item from a
catalog, file an insurance claim, or perform a myriad of other
everyday activities, some company somewhere makes a record of this
fact and sells it to marketers for profit.”
Superprofile Website

Essentially, if it is not pure organically raised cows and chickens or organically grown not-genetically modified vegetables and fruits, it is not a need.  And no, soy is not a vegetable nor a fruit.  It is a very bad for you weed.  Repeat a lie enough and everyone believes it, this is the case for soy and the soy industry.

The be all end all of this category is that you cook for yourself.  Many companies cut corners to try and pretend to bring you wholesome food.  The truth of the matter is that they incorporate weed by-products like soy, into their foods, to increase their profits.  You become unhealthy in the process of just eating, what you think is food.  Be smart and cook your own food.  It takes just as much time to prepare a meal on your own, from scratch, than eating unhealthy food, and on top of that shoving it into a cancer inducing microwave.

“The average American adult is exposed to over 600 advertising
messages in a single 24-hour period. -- Managing Business to Business

2. WATER: You only need to drink water.  Not fruit juice, not alcohol, not coffee.  And, you only need to drink the water that comes out of your own kitchen faucet.  You should not and do not need to buy bottled water.  It has to be the largest scam going.  In fact, you do not need 7 glasses of water a day, like the advertisers say.  They simply try to make you feel like you need that much to force you into purchasing bottled water.  The worst part of the bottled water scam is that most bottled water comes from tap water to begin with.  They do not come from a river, nor a mountain stream.  They come from the tap water located in some town where it is bottled.  So what are you paying for?

This was published in a column at The Newspaper Association of America
Website

“Not too long ago, the average American was exposed to over three
thousand advertising messages in the average day. Today, you get that
many before breakfast! Everyone is trying to build a brand. This
season, the networks have added one more minute of commercials per
half-hour, and that is just the beginning. Have you seen the ads in
golf holes (talk about hidden persuaders), in bathroom stalls, on
grocery register receipts and even in the sand on the beach?"
Newspaper Association of America Website

3. HOUSING: This is the real sad part about American marketing for the past century.  At its core, humans only need a roof over their head.  They do not need tremendous space, nor luscious living accommodations.  The housing industry has made it appear that you NEED to have your own home.  The reality was that Americans, like everyone else, lived 3 generations in a house.  Yes, the house was big, but everyone wasn't suffering from back breaking debt to have a house of their own.  The rest of the world still adheres to this.  People, overseas, only move out if they need to be close to a job or something.  Even so, they can always return home.  Housing should never be a point of ruining your financial life.  In fact the more affluent Americans, still live 3 generations to a house.  Not only does it make financial sense, but it contributes to the closeness of the family.  With 3 generations in a home, noone has to take a portion of their income and throw it away on housing.

Black people especially need to return to living 3 generations to a home.  It is a much better financial state to have everyone contributing to one home than several homes.  And, once the home is paid for, it should stay in the family forever.  A 12 bedroom house is a much better living arrangement than a single family with 2 children stuffing themselves into a two or three bedroom shack, paying out the nose.

Excerpts from the article “How Not to Fail at Your Marketing Or, Who's
fault is it, anyway?” by  Michael Lovas:

“The average American is targeted by 3000 messages per day. That
includes phone calls, e-mail, meetings, conversations. -- Data Smog by
David Shenk”

The big scam of the century was that they rewrote the "American Dream" and turned it into "everyone wants a home of their own, with a two car garage, white picket fence, cute wife and 2 1/2 kids."  This never was the American Dream.  Maybe it was some corporate fat cats "wet dream".  But, there is nothing American, nor dreamlike in having possessions.

"The American Dream", October 1973 issue of The Freeman, John E. Nestler reflects:

"Whereas the American Dream was once equated with certain principles of freedom, it is now equated with things. The American Dream has undergone a metamorphosis from principles to materialism. ... When people are concerned more with the attainment of things than with the maintenance of principles, it is a sign of moral decay. And it is through such decay that loss of freedom occurs."

Chuck Baldwin emphatically stated in his article Can You Imagine This Country?, that material gain is not the American Dream. Baldwin writes:

"We hear much today about the American dream. By "the American dream," most people mean buying a big house, driving an expensive automobile, and making a lot of money. However, this was not the dream envisioned by the Founding Fathers. Remember that, for the most part, America's founders gave up their material wealth and substance for something they considered of far greater worth. Unfortunately, this hedonistic generation knows little of the kind of sacrificial spirit personified in the lives of America's patriarchs.

In the minds of the founders, liberty--with all of its intrinsic risks--was more desirable than material prosperity, if that prosperity was accompanied with despotism or collectivism. So strong was their desire that they were willing to give up the latter in order to procure the former for themselves and their posterity.

How dare Americans today refer to material gain as "the American dream." It is not! It is the freedom to honestly pursue one's goals that should be celebrated. Material gain is only a fruit of freedom, not its root."
So the scam started with a couple of lies:

  1. houses always go up - complete lie
  2. your family home is an investment and an asset - based on #1 and another complete lie
Thus ensued the push for everyone to buy a house who first had a good job; then a decent job; then just a job; then ... if they could sign their name.  It was all a scam to get people out of their money.  Cities went along with it, because more people were available to pay property tax.  Huge housing developers loved it because they could sell twice, if not three times the number of houses at hugely inflated prices.  Banks and insurance companies loved it, because it became increasingly normal to get a loan for a house than to actually buy a home, which was the original American custom.  As more and more people were thrown into the notion that they should own a home, the land the home was on, became nearly worthless and the house became the object of desire.

Never in the history of real estate has a building on land been worth more than the land it was sitting on, until this modern age of finance. [and you can quote me on that]  With the notion that space was somehow scarce, landlords started building upwards and land was only allowed enough space to hold the very house which sat upon it.  No more acres of land for a person to be self sufficient on, now people purchased tiny fractions of land and put a home on it, which they then took on ever increasing sums of debt to finance.

Each of us sees more ads alone in one year than people of 50 years ago

Shenk, in his book Data Smog, states that the average American
encountered 560 daily advertising messages in 1971. By 1997 that
number had increased to over 3,000 per day.

Surviving the Information Glut
by David Shenk

If Black people were smart, they would consolidate and move all generations into a 3 story, 12 bedroom home that they could pay for with cash, with an adequate amount of land around it to be self sufficient.  Only a fool would pay a premium for a home, with no land around it.

More and more advertisement is spent telling us how we have "no time".  This includes that we should not buy a home with land around it, because we have "no time" to take care of the land and that taking care of land requires "work".  So we are all relegated to be lazy fools that are easily parted with our money.  We are too lazy to work the soil on our own property.  And we are foolish enough to pay 10 times as much to stay on a tiny fractional piece of land, as someone who has acres and acres of land.

4. COMMERCE AND LIVING: The rest of the needs fall into a category that is only needed because we live in modern times.  In the 12th century Africa, that would have been the end of the list and you could have lived like a king with just that much.  However, this is not the 12th century, nor Africa.  And, if you listen to certain people, you're no longer kings.  [more of that good American marketing and news media, showing Black people being arrested or uneducated on national TV]

This fourth category can be summarized by a discussion on building a family dynasty.  And that ... is another article.
