Pope Benedict, It is Time Resign - guest post by PPR

Impeaching the Pope

German Chancellor Angela Merkel addressed parliament on Wednesday as concern grows from Germany's Roman Catholics for the pontiff to address an abuse scandal in his homeland. Some 300 former Catholic students have come forward with claims of physical or gender abuse. "I think that we all agree that gender abuse of minors is a despicable crime and the only way for our society to come to terms with it is to look for the truth and find out everything that has happened," Merkel said. "The damage suffered by the victims can never fully be repaired." Things are growing rather awkward as the Popes brother and his own history of silence and concealment are being openly discussed in relation to these cases. Things are growing rather awkward in the latest gender abuse scandal within the Catholic Church, as the Pope's brother and own history are being discussed in relation to those cases emanating from Germany. In 2002, he said he was "personally convinced that the constant presence in the press of the sins of Catholic priests, especially in the United States, is a planned campaign" since abuse was no more an occupational hazard in the priesthood than in other professions. While the brother, Father Ratzinger has escaped severe criticism by a prompt apology distancing himself from these unseemly events, the other brother Pope Ratzinger, Pope Benedict, may not be so fortunate. The Popes silence is noted, in the wake of Ireland's highest ranking church member, Cardinal Sean Brady, apologizing to Irish Catholics at a St Patrick's day mass concerning the gender abuses that have recently rocked Ireland. Brady has faced calls to resign and has confirmed he will do so only at the behest of the Pope. Potentially fleeting, for the first time in living memory, albeit remote is the possibility of a Pontiff resignation. If it hasn't already, it will be crossing the minds of not just the faithful but the heathen too. Depending on revelations, this issue can escalate for the 87 year old, fondly nick named the "Rottweiler of God."

Follow Kevin_Cardinale on Twitter

So what would a step down from the pontificate entail for an outgoing Pope, should he fall on his staff? Would an executive resignation, all too common a remedy in Japan, yet mandatory in Russia suffice the growing dismay at the endless orgy of paedo-mania streaming from the catholic priesthood? Though it would be very unlikely, in this age of surprise and change it cannot be quickly dismissed. The act would have some viability. It would achieve final closure to all the mounting abuse claims against the church and yet equally become a modern form of martyrdom and merchandising potential (looking on the bright side). The "Fall down Pope" toy could be a very hot sell in China. Interchangeable accessories for a "plain clothes pope" and "martyr pope" all coming separately of course and battery would be optional.

Could the Pope make the semi-ultimate sacrifice of laying down his white cassock for the sins of his clergy? On becoming Pope 5 years ago, Benedict XVI promised a clean up of the Catholic Church. Charisma not being his style, purification and piety, not expansiveness would become his focus. So only weeks after the Pope came out in a rare display of condemning the historic heinous acts of pedophilia among priests in Ireland, the stone projectiles are boomeranging back to the Pope, his kin and his homeland. How uncanny that the Irish now cower beneath the merciful timely benevolence of their nations celebrated patron: St Patrick and as patron saints do, perhaps fending the stones back to the Holy See all the while a very bitter sweet smell of Black Guinness is still wafting in the air. The faithful offering prayers at this point would not be untimely, for the prospect looms of the next worst thing: a pending pontiff impeachment. Who dares cast the first stone?

by PPR

I say any and all priests accused, investigated and found to be abusing kids gender should be excommunicated and handed over to local authorities. I say if a priest is found to having gender with adults, he should be defrocked. If you can't keep your vows to God, then you don't need to be a priest at all. How can you study and teach the word of God, then turn around and break your vows. Yes, Jesus forgives, but there were always still consequences for actions. Forgiveness never meant "get out of jail free". Yes we forgive the priests for their sins, but they must suffer the consequences of their actions, just as their victims suffer. They no longer need to be priests. The consequence of alcoholism is self imposed. The consequences of gender abuse is imposed on another. One, you repent to God and confess to him. The other you repent to your victim and confess to them. The Catholic church is so afraid of the backlash of admitting these men are doing something wrong that they instead try to keep it hush hush? They have to realize in America we out everything. As a Catholic I am angered beyond belief at this. Admitted there are other molesters in the world, but it needs to be delt with severely in our church. If the pope isn't going to do it, then he needs to be defrocked as well. God cannot tolerate sin. As the voice of God, there is no way he is doing God's work.

Movie Review: Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

So Tim Burton takes on Alice in Wonderland, the classic Lewis Caroll "children's" tale. This movie isn't just a simple remake of the Disney Cartoon, but an add on. In this one, Alice is not 10 she is now 20. Tim Burton fails to capture any of the magic of the book or the old cartoon. The audience is left hanging from lack of story or feeling about any character in the entire movie. While the acting is OK and the visuals are OK, lackluster special effects and line delivery, a movie doth not make. It seems this director is trapped in his own grandiosity and has completely forgotten that he is making a movie for other humans to see. Wait till you can rent it for a dollar if you simply must see it before you die. Other than that do not waste your time and your money.

By the way, I did check other reviews before I started my review and every single person agrees with me. This movie is rubbish.

The Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland "Story"

So in the prologue to Alice being in wonderland she is first a little girl. We find her having a dream of wonderland. She is disturbed by the dream and goes to get her father, who tucks her in and talks to her about it. She asks if she's "mad". A bit of obvious foreshadowing since the entire movie centers around the Mad Hatter, played by Johnny Depp. Her father makes her laugh and she drifts off to sleep. In the next scene she is now 20, played by Mia Wasikowska, and is saddled with an engagement to a local Lord's son, this being set in the Elizabethan era. She whines about having to get married to a lord. When everyone gathers in the garden to witness the proposal, she runs away to chase the white rabbit, leaving 200 guests with mouths agape. She sees the rabbit go down a hole and this grown woman now tumbles down the rabbit hole.

So Alice is now in wonderland. She is greeted by the white rabbit, played by Michael Sheen ( from New Moon, never seen it, and probably won't ), Tweedledee and Tweedledum played by Matt Lucas, and Doormouse played by Barbara Windsor. They are debating whether she is the right Alice, apparently the white rabbit has retrieved more than one Alice before, only to be disappointed. They decide to take her to Blue Caterpillar, played by Alan Rickman ( from Harry Potter *yay* ) since he is the wisest in the land. He refers them to their visual calendar of events. In there it is shown that the next day Alice is to slay the Jabberwocky with the vorpal blade. When Alice balks at the idea, everyone decides that she is in fact the wrong Alice.

The entire movie then is set that she should come to her senses and slay the Jabberwocky. Boy, who could see that coming. Except, there was no montage of her training with the vorpal sword. Thank God Tim Burton left that cheeseball Hollywood playbook kitchen sink out of the movie. I don't know if Hollywood is stupid or Hollywood thinks audiences are that dense.

About Wonderland

The very idea of wonderland normally conjures up a world visualized through a smoke filled hazed one can only conceive of from a hookah pipe. Either Tim Burton is sorely lacking in psychedelic drugs or has no imagination whatsoever. I'm not one to condone drugs normally, but Tim, come on, next time take some shrooms for.... research purposes.

The entire movie was just so bland. While some of the visuals were nice, they were just that. "Oh that's nice." As bland as... this jelly is nice.

If Hollywood wants to produce eye-popping movies and crazed stories, perhaps they should throw their hat in to stand against the government's "war on drugs" and recognize that drugs, while harmful in a stupid person's hands, are quite the artistic boost in other hands.

Literally, a 4 year old with an exceptional talent for drawing could have come up with a far superior world than Tim Burton.

About the Story

Lord of the Rings was a box office smash. It seems any and everyone who can throw in a grand melee war scene, does so, hoping to ride the wave of battle scene mega bucks. So instead of the story being about Alice fighting the evil Red Queen and her army, played by Helena Bonham Carter ( from Harry Potter ), they throw in the White Queen, played by Anne Hathaway ( from The Devil Wears Prada ) and her army. Instead of Alice being this cheeky, witty and mischievous girl, she is instead a warrior princess, a la Lion Witch and the Wardrobe, in full plate mail, wielding a vorpal, long sword +5 vs Jabberwockys.

Tim Burton tried to throw in the failed reluctant hero, a la Matrix, but there was no montage of training. In fact there was no story at all. Once you found out they had the "wrong" Alice, since she refused to slay the Jabberwocky, the entire movie just moves toward her coming to an epiphany to slay the Jabberwocky. However, there is no epiphany. There is no sense of duty. There is no man vs anything in the whole movie.

Well what about the Red Queen? Isn't the Red Queen the enemy? No, in fact, due to mistaken identity, Alice is invited as a guest to the Red Queen's court. And the Red Queen, although the acting was fine, was nowhere near the terror of the book nor the cartoon. The script just was not there.

What about the mad hatter? Johnny Depp is falling into being typecast now. He has accepted too many roles of, weird English eccentric character number 3. While he sort of played the part OK, he was neither "mad" nor eccentric. The script for him was so dull, you would not have identified him as the mad hatter, were he not in costume and presented at the mad hatter table. I am sure everyone saw the movie preview where he walks on the table to shake Alice's hand. That is the summit of his madness in the entire movie.

What about the chesire cat? The chesire cat, played by Stephen Fry, was so boring it is laughable, and not in a haha way, but a derisive, "oh how droll" way. Whoever wrote the lines, needs to seriously just do some drugs and ponder their navel as it relates to world hunger for a few hours and then do a do over.

Save your money. This is a let down of let downs.

This Day and Age Men Reacting to Decent Women

The Younger Generation of "Men"?

So I'm having a conversation with an 18 year old... uh, man? And, he keeps going away to pour himself a drink. Finally, I ask does he have a girl friend. Then I correct myself, and tell him he doesn't have a girl friend and it was ridiculous for me to even ask. He asks how I knew he didn't have a girl friend. I inform him that since he is drinking so much, it shows that his mind is wandering and is not centered on anything, therefore no girl friend. Then I tell him he needs to get a girl friend. He responds, "yeah, there's this one girl i been trying to get with."

Let me stop right there. I'm talking to this guy about his mind wandering and that he needs a girl friend and that is his response. There is a complete disconnect just in the English we were both using. Obviously, I am on the path talking about mental and psychological things and he switches to the physical. When I tried to correct him and say "no I meant you need a girl friend." He corrects me saying that's what he said.

Ah! The light goes on in my head. To this 18 year old guy he equates girl friend with tricking some girl into having gender with him.

Follow Kevin_Cardinale on Twitter

Is there really such a huge disconnect in our society today? I'll put aside the complete lack of understanding the English language for this article and concentrate just on the thought process. I often have conversations with my family about people around us: women wearing overly revealing clothing; women disrespecting themselves, in an effort to get a man, then don't understand why they are never in a real relationship.

Further into the conversation I stop the guy and ask him what he thought of a woman in a mini-skirt vs one that was dressed in blouse and modest skirt. When presented with the scenario, he changed into a completely different person. He said he would never go after the girl in the mini-skirt, because he would assume she was dumb and didn't care about her appearance. He went on to say that the girl that took care of her appearance would probably be smart and that is a girl he would want to date. To add insult to injury, he said the girl in the mini-skirt probably is dumb, illiterate [not well read], and wouldn't notice her surroundings. He gave the scenario that the dumb girl wouldn't ask questions like, "why are we doing this." He also said that he is surrounded by "gender " at his high school and "they are gross."

So either he was just trying to be cool with me before and thought that I wanted him to talk about having gender with girls, or he wants to just taint nice girls, and that's his idea of a relationship.

Is this what young men think about women these days? Do young women know this is how young men see them? Do young women understand that the message they are putting out is a negative one and not a positive one?

I saw a clip of a comedian once, can't remember who exactly. In the clip he was talking about the girls in the club who rubbed all up on his body with their various body parts while dancing. Then feign shock when the night is over and the guy expects them to go home with them. He said the girl said "why are you treating me like a gender . I am not a gender ." And, he said he responded, "you were acting like a gender in the club. I am sorry I mistook you for a gender ." He said she responded, "I was just dancing." And, he responded, "yes, just like a gender ."

While the comedian was just being funny, he was pointing out a real situation. Some women might try and come to the defense of such a woman, but then again these very women have never been a man who have had their private parts rubbed upon for 4 hours by the breasts, butt and hands of a gender "acting" woman. If you want to defend the women, first go to a club and ask one of these women to rub on your private areas for the evening and then come out and say how good clean and wholesome they are... Oh, does that sound silly? No no, if you're going to defend someone, you must first know what you are defending. We're not talking about a rape scenario, nor a forcing someone to do anything. We are talking about a man being treated in such a manner as above, then when the evening is over requesting the woman go to his house to do what seems apparent to all.

I have had situations like that. I'm at a club and some girl sees me from across the room. She comes up to me and assumes I want to dance with her. She then proceeds to try to grind on me. My responses has always been to push her away from me and remove myself from the dance floor. I am more than that. And, she should feel she's more than that. If I wanted to be with a gender , I'd go be with a gender . gender is legal here anyway. :)

Sunday: The Power of Thought guest post Pastor T. W.

In Your Mind

If you believe in the saying: "You are what you eat!" Then you may want to consider that "we are what we think about." Those things which you think about enter into your heart, and causes your heart or mind to be either filled with good things, or evil things. Paul along with Timotheus, penned this letter to the Philippians. Paul seemed to believe that the things which enter our minds, have a lot to do with how successful our walk with God will be; how happy or unhappy we are.

Paul wrote unto the Philippians, these words: Philippians 4: 8

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, How many times do we contemplate what lie we will tell if confronted with a question, especially one which could get us into some trouble, like loosing our job, or an issue with the law.

Follow Kevin_Cardinale on Twitter

whatsoever things are honest, Like truth, we find it difficult to be honest every time. Even little simple things like someone saying: "How do you like my hair, or my dress?" The thought goes through our minds, "that's the ugliest dress I've ever seen in my life!" but our mouths say, "it's lovely dear! Honey, the color is you!" What is Paul recommending we say, or do? Just think on honest things, and he honest. It's refreshing.

whatsoever things are just, Let our hearts be fair and just in our dealings. Let us treat others as we would like to be treated.

whatsoever things are pure, "Let this mind be in you, that was also in Christ Jesus...." Think clean and holy thoughts. Get rid of that suspicious mentality.

whatsoever things are lovely, Think lovely and kind thoughts. Try to see things from the eyes of the Lord...through His Holy Word. Ask yourself, How would the Lord handle this? Or am I being kind or mean?

whatsoever things are of good report, Let us report only the things we hear that are good. Even if you know the evil report, you are not obligated to report it to others.

if there be any virtue, Virtue is clean or virtuous, as in "never defiled by man". Our thoughts are to be this way.

and if there be any praise, think on these things." We are to worship the Lord Jesus. Give God thanks for all things. Think about the fact that He died to set us free. I am excited about that!

I have to admit that I am still struggling with "thinking holy thoughts at all times." My time in prayer, and time studying the Word of God, and even attending church services on a regular basis, helps me in this area. God bless you.

Movie Review: DVD "Alice" Starring Caterina Scorsone, Philip Winchester and Kathy Bates

SYFY's Alice on DVD

The 2 night miniseries Alice, which appeared on SYFY, is now on DVD. What can I say about SYFY's Alice. Writer/director Nick Willing should really get a new career. The movie was like the U.S. government, over-budget, flashy and not delivering anything you would want to see nor hear in a movie. The script was just awful. There were monologues in the middle of gunfights; unfunny comedy relief; sappy non-believable love stories within love triangle, squares, dodecahedron and set designs out of a crack pipe, not a hooka, but a crack pipe. The cinematography and location shots had more mistakes than a 3rd grade play. And if Kathy Bates didn't have a southern accent one second, just wait 2 more and she had a Welsh, Scottish, British, french one the next.

I mean this movie was bad.

First of all, for the DVD release instead of a 4 hour movie, it was 10 hours, or maybe I was just that bored. Damn me for drinking coffee right before watching this fiasco.

Follow Kevin_Cardinale on Twitter

Let's dissect this movie like a high school science project shall we?

The story starts out with a very modern yuppy scene, white people doing judo? The actress playing Alice, Caterina Scorsone, is 12 going on 40, or was it 40 trying to portray a 20 year old. She has a round face that reminds you of a child, but more wrinkles than Jone Rivers. She's seen more plastic surgery than Pamela Anderson's upper torso. But, I digress. Or do I? Anyway, she is teaching her new beau, Philip Winchester, whom we notice is only shot in profile, till in the last 3rd scene of the movie, when you see him from the front do you realize he has a very large and crooked nose. Poor kid. Of course he is prince charming, blond hair, typical Hollywood leading man body, so blaze, not an interesting feature and a face you could forget in a line-up.

So the story starts that Alice is to meet her new prince charming for dinner and meat the rents, or in this case mom, who turns out to be 10 times sexier than Alice. Did someone say MILF? She has a black belt in cougar, I'm sure. She only 10 years older than Caterina, so I don't know who they were trying to fool. Typical hollywood! Can't have too old of an actress. Thank God Kathy Bates can act, or she'd be out on her can, old and fat, wow 2 strikes against her in Hollywood. Anyway, the new beau tries to giver her a friendship ring, but Alice has commitment issues and told him no. Alice is a chick flick? I shoulda turned off the movie right there. The dialogue was agonizing between the mom and Alice. Anyway, she discovers the beau has slipped the ring in her pocket, since we know the beau is in trouble with someone. The beau is seen being kidnapped, and Alice is apprehended as well, when she gives chase, and thus we enter wonderland, via a serial killer windowless white van. Wow, talk about classy seguay.

When she arrives in wonderland, it looks like a post apocalyptic dump. Instead of the weird creatures and animal anthropomorphism that went into the classic tale, everyone is just a human with the classic tale name. The worst rendering of these was the "mad hatter", now shortened to hatter. There is nothing magical about the place, it is a dull boring jaunt through a very ordinary place that looked like a Harlem nightmare.

The script was... well it was terrible. It could not have been made worse with a full narration by George W Bush, made up words and all. The dialogues made no sense, and no two lines were coherent. No scene led into another scene and no lines led into another line.

Literally, I said to myself, this has got to be the worst movie I've ever seen in my life.

No logical thought process went into the scene setups. So the subplot is that throughout the entire movie, she is looking for her father. When she finds him, and he finally wakes up from amnesia, yes they actually gave him amnesia, he is shot dead within 2 seconds. Do we care? No. Why have the subplot in there, to begin with. And, when Alice returns home, and tells her mother, who had also wanted to find him at the beginning, doesn't even react. She mentions it in two scenes at the end and the mother doesn't react. You don't believe me? Look at the dialogue.

Alice:Mother, daddy is dead [cry]
Mother: honey you had me so worried

What? Wait, what movie is the mother in? Oh and the 2nd scene, she's home and obviously putting away the missing father's items.

Mother: what are you doing honey
Alice: I don't need these anymore. I need to move on, since I know about daddy now
Mother: that construction worker is here to see you

Time out. Is it me or did she just ignore the fact that her husband, who has been missing, and she didn't remarry, for 10 years is now found and pronounced dead?

The entire movie went like this. It is as if 2 separate people wrote the script and didn't communicate with each other and just handed it to the actors on shooting day.

Watch Out, Census Bullies Coming to Town

Don't Be Bullied by the U.S. Census

We the people... wait, does that say We the lawyers, or maybe We the judges, no no We the bureaucrats, perhaps We the NWO? I'm so confused, what does it say :( Oh, we the PEOPLE! Yay, what did I win? 60 days in jail you say? A $100 fine? Pretty small price to pay. Wait, what? Remove my right to buy weapons? When did that occur? So, let me get this straight: you can violate all my rights to privacy, which are listed, in no less than 5 Amendments to the constitution; and if I uphold my right to privacy, strictly against the government, you throw me in jail and fine me and take away my constitutional right to bear arms? What blue planet did I fall off of?

Silly, ain't it? But, let's get on with the discussion. So the U.S. Census is coming to town. Maybe some of you have already gotten it. There is a big controversy over it. What is that controversy? Well apparently, instead of a census, the census bureau is taking it upon themselves to ask you very personal and extremely private questions that you should never tell anyone in government. People argue that the questions would not be held against you, however in the past they have been used to round up the Japanese and send them to internment camps and other horrible things, that were personally identified by the U.S. Census. If someone ever said it cannot be used against you, they are either trying to willfully mislead you, or they are oblivious of any recent history.

Follow Kevin_Cardinale on Twitter

What are You Constitutionally Mandated to Say?

The article discussing the census is found in the very first article of the constitution. You cannot get any more important that that. The U.S. Constitution requires that a census of the entire population, citizens and noncitizens alike, be made every ten years (Article I, Section 2, Clause 3). The 14th amendment to the Constitution directs that the census will be used to determine the number of members of the U.S. House of Representatives from each state. The census is conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, an agency established in 1899 within the U.S. Commerce Department.

Let's see that Article 1, section 2, clause 3:
Clause 3: Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons [oh my God, negro slaves]. The actual Enumeration [that means head count] shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct. The Number of Representatives shall not exceed one for every thirty Thousand, but each State shall have at Least one Representative; and until such enumeration shall be made, the State of New Hampshire shall be entitled to chuse three, Massachusetts eight, Rhode-Island and Providence Plantations one, Connecticut five, New-York six, New Jersey four, Pennsylvania eight, Delaware one, Maryland six, Virginia ten, North Carolina five, South Carolina five, and Georgia three.

Let's look at the 14th amendment:

Section. 2. Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State.
Now I already did a piece on your right to privacy, against the government. So clearly the census is used solely to count people for representation of the house of representatives. It is not supposed to be used to ask you what time you go to work. [actual question] The constitution was written to give us the limitations of the government, not the powers of government. The governments, up until that time in history, assumed all powers. Given this assumption, the founding white fathers decided that the constitution was expressly prohibit the government from that very assumption of power, except for what was expressly given in the constitution. If anyone ever tells you otherwise, they have no business opening their mouth.

What does all this mean? As a U.S. citizen, by your birth right, you are to give just an accounting of what grown adults live in your house. In plain English, how many, what number, adults live in your house. That does not include names, things, money, medical information, family history, financial information, social information.

The debate goes on because there are two obscure cases that had nothing to do with the census, that said "no one should question the power of congress." Well, I just told you the constitution expressly prohibits the power of congress. The two cannot be right. Neither case were a supreme court case though. So for someone to even site the cases is dumb. The cases had nothing to do with the census and they were not supreme court cases.

Why has there not been a supreme court case? Because the census bureau is afraid that if they were to actually prosecute someone that refused to fill out the census, that there would be a massive backlash and participation in the census would immediately fall to like 10% participation. As it stands now, there is nowhere near 100% participation. To my knowledge, no one has been prosecuted for not filling out the Census.

I am not trying to get you or anyone else to disobey the law. I am not giving you legal advice. This article is for entertainment purposes only. I ain't one to gossip, so you didn't hear this from me. BUT...

I'm sure you're asking am I going to fill out the census. Well, I've never ever received a census to fill out. Besides, the government is about to get more information out of me than that measly census anyway, because I'm applying for a Washington job. I expect I'll get a full cavity search. I expect they'll go over my finances with a fine tooth comb. I expect no part of my privacy will be left undisturbed. *sigh* But, that is the price you have to pay with them right? No more income tax, at the expense of giving up all your constitutional rights. LOL Luckily, they'll never see this, because no one knows my real name, and the picture is fake. I'm actually a blond haired, blue-eyed, fat, Asian, Brazilian, chick from Mongolia. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Gay Community, Sold on the LIe of Aids Testing

Letter to Senator Reid

Written Letter to Senator Harry Reid, My State Senator

Senator Reid,

I was shocked that the entire debate over the unemployment bill, recently passed, was not in fact an extension of unemployment compensation, but simply an extension of the filing date.

I don't think you are aware of the real u-3 unemployment data. We are not at 16% nationwide with Nevada having an extra 3% lead over the nation, putting us at nearly 20% unemployment.

I have not been able to gain employment since the end of 2008 when my company laid off 2% of the work force nationwide and have not hired anyone back. I don't understand how you and the rest of congress can be so out of touch with the employment situation out here.

I don't understand how you all can approve tens of billions of dollars in relief to Haiti, on top of the regular billions you send them, yet not help to feed your own citizens.

It is a slap in our face.

Follow Kevin_Cardinale on Twitter

I don't understand how you can require taxes on unemployment compensation, which amounts to 2 whole months worth of unemployment, when it is a paycheck to paycheck situation to begin with. Unemployment is a much lowered percentage of your regular pay rate. People have to feed families, pay rents, put gas in cars with that unemployment check.

How can you make speeches you are for Nevadans when you and your colleagues are making people homeless. I have read countless accounts of people who, after reading that the recent unemployment legislation did not extend the benefits themselves, say they are now "desperate". I can just imagine the suicide rate will skyrocket after the benefits run out.

The unemployment rate increased. Companies are not hiring. Businesses are not hiring. We are getting nothing from congress but rhetoric and political plays. And, I'm not falling for the scapegoat of Senator Bunning, it was an obvious ploy to use him.

We are dying out here while you and your colleagues refuse to take action. You refuse to force the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates. Our savings is in the negative because of it. Who is going to put money into savings that generates less than 7 tenths of a percentage point? Citizens won't save and businesses won't borrow with artificially low interest rates, especially now that it is obvious the interest rates are not indicative of consumer savings.

Yet, you bailout Fannie and Freddie and AIG, while letters and phone calls pour in opposed to it. Yet, millions of Americans will starve due to no extension of the unemployment benefits. We all still vote. I don't understand how the congress can have such hubris. I don't understand how you can say you are for Nevadans, 3rd in the nation in unemployment.

Karate Kid The New Movie

Karate Kid with a Main Black Actor

I never do this. Hell, I never get excited over a movie. Hell, I hate nearly everything I see. But, this movie got me hyped up. I was so hyped I was cheering during the damn trailer. I mean, who cheers at a trailer?

Anyway, in Columbia Pictures' The Karate Kid, 12-year-old Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) could've been the most popular kid in Detroit, but his mother's (Taraji P. Henson) latest career move has landed him in China. Dre immediately falls for his classmate Mei Ying - and the feeling is mutual - but cultural differences make such a friendship impossible. Even worse, Dre's feelings make an enemy of the class bully, Cheng. In the land of kung fu, Dre knows only a little karate, and Cheng puts "the karate kid" on the floor with ease. With no friends in a strange land, Dre has nowhere to turn but maintenance man Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), who is secretly a master of kung fu. As Han teaches Dre that kung fu is not about punches and parries, but maturity and calm, Dre realizes that facing down the bullies will be the fight of his life.

Will Smith's son not only is the lead actor, but he got top billing ahead of Jackie Chan for the film. Not too shabby, if you ask me. Of course, being Will Smith and Jada [oh dear God she's hot] Smith's son, the kid is amazing. Those two are breading super humans. We're gonna have Smith children presidents and popes in about 30 years. I can't wait. I'll just be retireing right about then. Anyway check out the trailer.

Is that awesome, or am I looney?

D'Angelo What Happened

Where are They Now?

D'Angelo Before

D'Angelo Now

Seriously, what happened. And, everyone is talking about, "oh but he's a great singer." If Britney wore a size 8 and they called her fat, what are they gonna say about D'Angelo? I mean really. I'm just saying.
